Mommies and Midterms

Well, I just had a wonderful weekend after a few pretty bad weeks. My mom came to town for Homecoming/Parents' Weekend, and we had a great time. First, I'll rewind to the beginning of the week...I got to spend most of Sunday to myself, so that was nice. I tried to watch the Bears' game in my boss's apartment, but the Rams were on. Stupid Rams cable. After that I went to a park right outside of Greenville to have some me and God time. It was beautiful, and much needed.

On Wednesday it was the Homecoming celebration. Before last year Greenville wasn't allowed to have dances because they are Free Methodist. For some reason they decided against that rule, and so this year marked the 2nd annual Homecoming Dance. As part of Homecoming, Greenville also has a dinner, but neither myself, nor my girls wanted to participate. So, instead of paying 10 dollars to eat DC food, some of my girls and I went to a nearby town to spend money on dinner with people we know and love. It was a lot of fun. We went to this place called The Pasta House for dinner and then we went to Coldstone for dessert. One girl's boyfriend came with as well, but he seemed to have a good time. My girls are awesome, so of course we had a blast! I'm so blessed to have them, they bring so much joy to my life!

That's my roommate! Isn't she amazing?!

This was also midterm week. I had one test on Wednesday, a psychology test like thing and a midterm on Thursday, and a test on Friday. It was stressful, but now its all over with and I don't have to worry about it any more!

Last year before I came to Greenville, my dad got me and our family webcams so that we could stay in touch that way, but it didn't work when we tried it. Well, my good buddy Emily and I tried it out this week, and the webcam works! So, this week I've been talking to Emily via webcam, and its so great! I haven't seen her since she left for Florida in June, so its so good to see her face! I also got to talk to J to the effrey this week, and that was long overdue. It was awesome to catch up. I got to talk to two of my favorite people in the world this week, so that was amazing and helped me survive!

Then, on Friday, my mom came! I can't express to you how much I needed that! We had such a good time hanging out and spending time with each other. We went to a concert put on my the music department on Friday night, and that was pretty cool. Saturday was full of football. Greenville kicked butt, and Nebraska not so much, but they put up a good fight. We also watched House! Mom taped the episodes for me, and brought them with so we could watch them together. That show is amazing! We also had a sleepover last night, so that was a lot of fun. The weekend went by way too fast, but I'm so glad that she was here! I love her so much!

Only 3 more weeks and I get to come home for Thanksgiving! I haven't been home since August 4th, so I'm going to withdrawal. Well, that's today's novel. Thanks for reading!
